Monthly Archives: September 2013
Auditions have now been opened! Go check out the updated Character pages including the Extra’s page for the descriptions. Please remember to include in your email:
- The name of the character/s you have drawn.
- The media you used. (Pencil, paint etc. If you have used a tablet on a PC please mention the software you use, for example Photoshop, GIMP or Sai)
- How long it took you to draw one character.
- Have a working email address.
If you used traditional media such as pencils, take a picture of your work and upload it via email. You are allowed to use mobile cameras providing they are of good quality, no blurred images, and must only include your work. (No images of your work with your cat in the background!) Now here are the rules and guidelines for the auditions:
- You must follow all of the points we included above.
- Must be any ANBOD character.
- Can be a extra character instead of a main character.
- Can be in black and white as well as color.
- Take note of the written description of the character more than the visual.
What happens in the event of a tie?
Depending on your skills we may hire more than one auditionee, if this takes place we will split the amount of work you do via the amount of chapters. (For example every Volume is 10 chapters long so if we choose two people to draw for us, one half will draw 5 chapters and the second, the other 5 chapters.)
But I am auditioning with my skills as a line artist! Won’t that affect my place if you want a manga artist?
Nope! If this is the case we will use your skills as a line artist but forward your work to another artist that colors.
What happens after auditions are over? We upload your drawing of the character to replace the temporary images we have on the site, we will add a small ANBOD watermark but we have no complaints for you to include your own watermark for when we upload to the site. (If you are a traditional artist leave a name (Or screen-name) for us to credit you with. Depending on the characters that were not redrawn (Such as everybody auditioned with Rose and no-one auditioned for Blade, we will pick a random auditionee to draw Blade for us so we can take down the temporary images!)
After that, we will email you a written chapter of the story and you will use that to draw pages of manga. The minimum of a chapter is 15 pages. We may include images in an email providing rough sketches of what we wish to see in a page. You will need to email us chapter pages (Non colored/finalized.) and we will decide if we want you to make any changes to the pages you did or not. (This saves a lot of time, for example if we were not happy with the way you draw a character or missed an item of importance in a character on page 3, you may make this mistake throughout to page 20 and you would have had to redo the whole thing!)
Good luck to all!
